I love math and I love sports, even if I have no special ability in either. Mr. McLoughlin brought a quiet joy to both and I will always be grateful to him for his role in my life. I send my sincere condolences to his family.

Mr. McLoughlin was the first math teacher I had that encouraged me to reach deeper in my studies. He was endlessly patient with my questions and stayed after school many days to help me. He was hilarious and kind. He will be missed.

"Mr. Pat" was one of the most beloved teachers for generations of Uni High students in Urbana. He taught us geometry and taught us about life and humor and how to treat others well while he was at it. We'll miss you, Mr. Pat!
