Wendy Sue Thompson, 50, of Decatur IL., passed away at her home on April 23, 2026.

She was born on August 14, 1975, in Decatur, to James L. and Nancy F. (Mauck) Thompson.

She is preceded in death by her father James, paternal grandparents Glen & Inza Thompson and maternal grandparents Frank & Mona Mauck.

She is survived by her mother Nancy (George) Pike of Champaign, daughters Tashiana Evans, Qwentiana Ivy and Qwentasia Ivy of Decatur, grandchildren Jaleah, Zyleille, Amiri and Khari of Decatur, significant other Eugene Powell of Decatur, brother Steven (Tara) Thompson, uncles Bruce (Marti) Thompson of Lexington, KY., and Robert (Kathy) Thompson of Bloomington, IL., as well as aunt Judy (Lyle) Sentel of Arthur.

Wendy graduated from Bement High School and from Parkland College in Champaign with a Certified Nursing certification. She worked 25 years as a CNA.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother as her family was her purpose in life.

Gravesides services will be Sunday, May 17th at 1pm at the Bement Township Cemetery, Route 105 at 11 North and County Road 900 East.
