Paul Pumphrey

Paul Daniel Pumphrey 65, of Decatur, IL, passed away on October 12, 2024, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. He passed from this life into the arms of Jesus with his family by his side. Dan was born May 25, 1959, in Decatur, IL, son of Wilmer Alva (Bill) Pumphrey and Nina Jane Pumphrey. He was retired from Norfolk’s Southern Railway.

Dan loved his family, camping, fishing, and motorcycles. He never met a stranger and was quick to help friends and neighbors fix things.

He is survived by his sons Paul Daniel Pumphrey II – North Carolina, Austin Daniel (Hannah) Pumphrey – Decatur, IL, stepdaughter Catrina (Jake) Purlee – North Carolina, brother Russel (Emily) Pumphrey and sister Jayne Phillips – Decatur, IL; Granddaughters Sophia and Ava Pumphrey and 4 nephews.
Celebration of life to be held at a later date

Dan was proceeded in death by his parents and sister, Toby Marie Pumphrey.
