Anne "Vonnie" Kercheval

Anne Yvonne “Vonnie” Kercheval, 57, of Sullivan, Illinois, passed away on February 10, 2025. Born on December 4, 1967, in Mattoon, Vonnie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose heart overflowed with love and kindness. She was fiercely passionate about her grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them and always putting their needs first. Her compassion extended beyond family, as she was deeply committed to helping others and offering a caring hand to anyone in need. A truly kindhearted soul, she exemplified love, patience, and selflessness in all aspects of her life. Vonnie’s love for her husband, Bill, was immeasurable and unwavering. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, support, and mutual respect. She was his constant companion, always by his side through both the good times and the challenges, proving what true devotion and partnership meant. One of her greatest joys was riding on the back of his motorcycle, where they shared countless adventures and memories. Her loyalty to him, as well as her deep care for their children, was evident in everything she did. She is survived by her husband William Bill L Kercheval Jr; her children Cody R. Nelson, Brittany L. Kercheval, Elizabeth A. Trimuel (and son-in-law Bailous Trimuel V), and Keith M. Kercheval (and daughter-in-law Kaitlynn Kercheval); and her beloved grandchildren Destinei Blackwell, Alayja Jackson, Bailous Trimuel VI, Danya Trimuel, Aunalaya Rodman, Rhiannon Kercheval, and Jackson Kercheval. She also leaves behind her sisters Barbara Barricklow and Dana Miller-Harshman; her brother Danny Nelson; and her Loving Bonus Mom Marilyn Brooks-Nelson, Aunt Ester Nelson,Kathy And Jim Conlin, And Many Nieces and Nephews and Cousins And (The SBR Family) Special Friends Robin, KKarla Adler. Vonnie was preceded in death by her father Ray Nelson; her mother Patricia “Marshall” Pflug; her maternal and paternal grandparents., Uncle Keith Nelson. Her legacy of love, care, and compassion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
