In Loving Memory of Marcus Charles Bruns

Marcus (Mark) Charles Bruns, 73, of Decatur, IL. passed away at Decatur Memorial Hospital on
March 18, 2025, at 1:17 PM.
Mark was born September 10, 1952, in Decatur, IL. He was the 3rd child/ 2nd son of Donald Ray
Bruns and Virginia Dalene Woolen (Bruns-Gregory). We believe that he was greeted by them in
Heaven, along with his grandparents, aunts & uncles, his special sister, Julia Leann Phillips
(Bruns), and some of his cousins.
He attended Lakeview High School and played football there. He went on to attend Baptist Bible
College (BBC). Mark worked as a professional painter most his life, beginning his career by
working many years with his father at Don Bruns and Sons Painting.
Mark loved his family dearly as well as his friends and dogs. Mark (“Bruno”) was also an avid
pool player.
Surviving are his eldest sister Connie Roberts (Bruns), two brothers Richard and Timothy,
nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces, cousins, his stepmother Esther Faust,
stepsister Ann Bates, and many friends.
A celebration in honor of Mark’s life will be held at Sliderz, 5983 US-36 Decatur, IL 62521on April 19, 2025, from 2-5 PM, in the back warehouse.

There will be a potluck food serving and all are welcome to join.
