Christopher A. Owens

Christopher A. Owens, age 57, of Decatur, Illinois passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Christopher is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Susan Owens; their four beloved children, Brooke Walters, John Hollgarth, Jeremy (Lindsey) Hollgarth, and Deliah (Tim) Thompson; and twelve cherished grandchildren who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his mother, Velma Rickman, his dad, Gene Rickman, and siblings Neal Owens, Tina (Shane) Webb, and Keith (Heather) Rickman.

Also mourning his loss are his father-in-law, John Brown, sisters-in-law Cheryl (Frank) Dandridge, Penny (Bill) Christ, and Gean Brown, and brother-in-law Tim (Jamie) Brown.

Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Owens, brother, Todd Owens, mother-in-law Alice Brown, brother-in-law Frank Dandridge, and sister-in-law Joann.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the DMH Intensive Care Unit and Hospice Care for their compassion and support during Christopher’s final days.

Christopher will be remembered for the love he gave, the strength he showed, and the family he adored. His legacy lives on in each life he touched.
