David Allen

David Scott Allen 80 of Clinton, IL passed away on May 12, 2025, at 5:44am in Springfield, IL at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

David is the youngest of four siblings born to Aaron Scott Allen and Freelia Jane (Duncan) Allen in Kenney, IL on July 18, 1944.

David married Ellen Louise (Myers) Allen on August 13, 1986, in Clinton, IL

David is survived by his wife Ellen Allen of Clinton, IL

Children Alyce (Steve) Allen-Atchison of Pana, IL, Julie Ann Allen of Washington State, Jeffrey Allen of Kenney, IL, Loretta (Jeff) Allen-Woodbury of Clinton, IL, Jeremy (Tabitha) Roberts of Toney, AL, Shelia Roberts of Clinton, IL, Steve Roberts of Clinton, IL and Michelle (William) Roberts-Crenshaw of Hendersonville, TN.

Grandchildren Brenna (Noah) Weitekamp, Laurel, Jackson and Hunter Woodbury, Taylor & Cole (Alyssa) Posey, Frank Harlow, David (Toni) Harlow, and Abby. Kaleb Roberts, Lori and Brandon Roberts and Dylan Crenshaw, Matt (Kari) Ziegler and Zach Brewer.

Great Grandchildren William, Kane, Kynleigh and Kendalyn, Jill, Luke, Elizabeth and Scarllette, and three more.

David is proceeded in death by his parents and two sisters Janet Eckhardt and Mary Russell, Brother-in-Law Don Myers and Sister-in-Law Chris Mathison. His beloved pups Storm & Thunder.

David was a Vietnam Veteran serving 20 years in the United States Army, retiring in 1983 as SFC E7

He retired in 2008 from Clinton Power Station after 20 years as Captain of Security

David will be remembered as a loving husband and father and especially as the best “poppy” & “pop pop” ever! His love of Star Trek, Westerns and Thunderstorms.

David will be cremated and a Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held on June 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm at his daughter’s residence at 3950 Spirit Rd Clinton, Il
