Charles R. Neal

Charles R. Neal, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on November 11, 1941, in Curran to Harry S. Neal and Myrtle I. Hewitt. Charles was a lifetime resident of Springfield. He was an avid outdoorsmen, hunter and fisherman. Charles worked for Constantino’s Meat Packing for 10 years, McCabe’s meat packing for 20 years, and Griffith’s Construction until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers. He is survived by the love of his life Marlene, children Rex (Molly), Sis (Jake), and Debbie (Bob), his sisters Jean, Betty, Pat and Mary, brothers Bill, Meirl and Lynn, grandchildren Christina, Nichole, Justin, Tony, Laura and Jeanine. Several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites are being done by Central Cremation Center.
