Shirley Stickel

Shirley Jean Stickel, 63, of Springfield, Illinois died at home on July 4, 2025 after a long battle with heart disease.

She was born in Springfield in 1961 to Alfred George Stickel and Barbara Jean (Elledge) Stickel.

Shirley graduated from the University of Spa and Cosmetology Arts in 1981 and worked as a hair stylist until she retired. She enjoyed spending time with her son, Damean Boone, her dog Daisy Mae, antiquing, and attending family functions.

Shirley was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister, JoAnne Stickel, and brother, John Allen Stickel and is survived by brothers: Roger (Anglee) Stickel, David Stickel, Robert Stickel, and Edgar Stickel; sisters: Ruth Ann (Michael) Ayers, Caroline Stickel, and Patricia Ealey; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Special friends: Cheryl Neal, Paula Stickel, Richard and Judy Evans, Mary and Micah.
