David Trimby

David L. Trimby, 87, of Decatur, IL., passed away at 4am in Springfield Memorial Hospital on July 16, 2025.

David was born in Decatur on February 18, 1938.

David was in the concrete business with his dad, Cy, and brother Rodger, right out of high school.

He later went into the garbage business for 20 years and then had a lawn business for another 20 years.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Nancy, son Greg (Cindy) Trimby, sisters Carol (Jerry) Doolin and Jane (Jeff) Warner, grandchildren Kayla & Daniel Butler, Zachary (Sara) Trimby, Kara (Ian) James, great grandchildren Riley Butler and Lydia Trimby, and his beloved dog Nick.

David was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth (Cy) and Dorothy (Disney) Trimby, brothers Rodger Trimby and Steve Trimby and sister Kay.

As per David’s wishes, there will be no services, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
