Christina Ann Howerton

Christina Ann Howerton 44 of Decatur, passed away July 21, 2025 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Christina was born, December 15, 1980 in Springfield IL, the daughter of Bruce Michael Howerton Sr and Carol Ann (Pope) Howerton-Childers.

Christina was a member of Macon New Life Tabernacle Church. Christina was very friendly, never meeting a stranger, always there to encourage people and she loved to share her faith in Jesus Christ. Christina also loved to cook and spend time with family and friends.

She is survived by her Sister, Sherry Howerton of Decatur, IL, and Brother Bruce Michael Howerton Jr of Decatur, IL; several aunts and uncles , Gene Pope Jr (Peggy) of Fenton, MO, James “Jim” Pope (Nita) of Decatur, IL, Roger Pope (Tammy) of Venice, FL, Beverly Gharst (Lyndle) of Pendleton, IN, Kent Pope (Chris) of Venice, FL, Brenda Hutton (Kevin) of Gibson City, IL, Great Aunt Sherry (Melvin) Hill of Ramsey, IL, Scott Howerton (Debbie) of Cadet MO, Cynthia (Howerton) Griswold Lincoln IL, She was preceded in death by her Father Bruce Howerton Sr. Mother Carol Ann (Pope) Howerton-Childers and Step Father John Childers, Grandparents Dorwin Gene and Hazel (Goodman) Pope Sr Grandparents Paul Robert Edna (Dickson) Howerton, aunt Janet Pope and cousin Thracia Gharst.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and the entire staff of Decatur Memorial Hospital for the devoted care they gave to Christina.

There will be a Graveside service for friends and family 2:00pm August 30th, at Boiling Springs Cemetery Decatur, IL.

Cremation service will be provided by Central Cremation Services.

In lieu of Flowers Donations may be left to her family.
