LeAnne Shoemaker

LeAnne Marie Shoemaker, 52, of Decatur passed away Friday August 29, 2025 at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.

She was born April 14, 1973 in Springfield to Leonard and Jane (Heyen) Blackwell. She married Jason Shoemaker in Mexico on February 12, 2004.

LeAnne is survived by her husband, Jason; her mother Jane Blackwell; sisters Julie Cave and Melissa Cave; two nieces and two nephews; mother in-law Sue Shoemaker. She was proceeded in death by her father Leonard Blackwell and step-mother Patricia Blackwell.

She previously worked for United Cerebral Palsy in Springfield and spent the last 17 years as Chief Financial Officer at the Macon County Mental Health Board in Decatur. LeAnne was an active member of AMBUCS and several charitable organizations during her life. She was known for her love of travel and beach vacations with friends and family and the love of her many cats over the years.

A Celebration of Life to honor LeAnne will be held at South Wheatland Town Hall, Elwin, Saturday October 4 starting at 1 p.m.
