Edna Kay Thrasher

Edna Kay Thrasher, 88, of Clinton passed away Friday, September 5, 2025 at Goldwater Nursing Home in Clinton.

Edna was born May 28, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Frank and Edna Svestka. She was adopted at an early age to Ray and Gladys Shaffer of Weldon. She married Ronald Thrasher, September 9, 1956 and later they divorced. Ronald preceded her in death.

Surviving our her children, Lennie Thrasher of Alabama, Jeff Thrasher of Clinton, Penny (Bob) Thomas of Lincoln, Mindy (Dwayne) Sessions of Clinton, Paul (Fran) Thrasher of Farmer City and Paula (John) Carpenter of Missouri. Also, surviving are 32 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, son Ricky Thrasher, son Scott Thrasher, daughter Cindy Gharrett, her 3 sisters, 1 brother, 1 grandson and 1 granddaughter.

Edna retired from Crestview Nursing Home in Clinton where she worked for years as head cook.

Central Cremation Center of Forsyth, Il will be handling arrangements. The family will be having a celebration of Life.
