Dawn Elaine Forbes (Templeton)

Dawn Elaine Forbes (Templeton), 61 of Harristown, IL passed away Monday December 8th 2025 in Mt. Zion from her battle of Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Dawn was born December 19th, 1963 in Belvidere, IL to Alice and  John “Jack” Templeton.

Dawn then married her high school sweetheart David Paul Forbes on August 27th, 1983 at West Decatur church of God in Decatur, IL. They was married for 42 years.  Dawn and David then had 3 children together. Dawn was full of life and laughter. Everyone loved her smile. She had a love for her husband, being a wife/mother/ mema and sister, her 3 kids, 3 yorkies, grandchildren and a great grandchild, music, dancing, being outside, splitting fire wood, cooking, puzzle’s, flowers, friends and family time and never would turn down “tacos and margaritas”.

Her smiles will never be forgotten. Dawn worked for many years in a Daycare which she loved taking care of kids and being around them. She was very strong even when things got hard and still would have a bright beautiful smile. We will miss her always and forever but be in our hearts. The love a support from everyone over the years from family and friends we can’t say thank you enough.

She is survived by her husband David Forbes of Harristown, IL, Son Michael Templeton (Kari) of Harristown, IL, Daughter Dawnyelle Forbes of Decatur, IL, Daughter Amy Larkin (Tim) of Boston, Massachusetts. Sisters Paula Jordan of Decatur, IL, Linda Boone (Rick) of Bolingbrook, IL, Jackie Runyen (Jeff) of Maroa, IL, Angie Templeton ( Paul “Red” Lewis) of Decatur, IL; 6 grandchildren Vanessa and Kadence Templeton, Atiana and Khloe White, Madison and Wyatt Hawkins , 1 great grandchild Nehlie , many aunts, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Alice and John (Jack) Templeton. In addition to her parents is preceded in death by her grandparents, aunt and mother in law.

Dawn’s celebration of life will be in the spring or summer of 2026.
