Virginia Smith

Smith, Virginia E. of Decatur passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on February 28, 2026 at Fair Haven Senior Living Center. Cremation services provided by Central Cremation Center. Memorials: Memorial Home Hospice.

Virginia was born June 24, 1930 in Decatur the daughter of Lewis and Mary Jane Gregg. She lived a good life at Eagle Ridge her last ten years. Her family wants to thank everyone from top to bottom for her excellent care. A special thanks goes to her daughter for getting mom in Eagle Ridge. One of her highlights was taking the van to Walmart to shop.

Also a special thanks goes to her nieces Judy and Mickey for visiting mom. Their visits always made mom’s day a little bit brighter. Mom really loved their company.

Survivors include: Ron (Christine) Brown of Decatur, Dale (Sabena) Brown of Takoma Park, MD, Victoria Breyfogle of Cedar Rapids, IA, Chris Smith of Washington, IL, and Tim (Lois) Smith of Kenton, OH. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Virginia is proceeded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers, and three sisters.

Graveside services will be at a later date. She will be buried at Camp Butler with our dad.
