Teresa Thomas

Teresa Thomas passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ramon Thomas, her parents, and her son, Michael “Mike” Thomas.

Teresa is survived by her son Mark Thomas and his wife, Robin, and their children Blake, Luke, Kelsey, and Kylie. She is also survived by the children of her late son Mike: Ben, Casey, Derrick, Lainey, and Elliot.

Teresa was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her sister Barb Casner (Mac).

Teresa worked at Ploeger Title Company in Decatur and also at the Moweaqua Bowl and Café, where she enjoyed serving and connecting with the community of Moweaqua. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Teresa loved animals, birdwatching, especially hummingbirds, and had a special love for flowers—particularly her beautiful blue hydrangeas. She treasured spending time with her family and especially loved attending her grandchildren’s’ sporting events, where she could always be found cheering them on with pride.

Teresa also never missed a moment to show she cared, faithfully mailing cards to family members throughout the years. She shared a lifetime of laughter with her husband Ramon, often teasing and cracking jokes with him, a reflection of the deep love and friendship they shared.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Pana Nursing and Rehab for their compassionate care and kindness. Teresa will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Per Teresa’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Humane Society of Decatur, HSDMC.ORG, in memory of Teresa.
