Arlen Isaacs

Arlen E. Isaacs, 93, of Decatur, IL, passed away on March 14, 2026.

A service celebrating Arlen’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Mt. Zion Christian Church, Mt. Zion, IL, with a fellowship time to follow. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 29 in Greenleaf Cemetery, Farmer City, IL.

Arlen was born on February 26, 1933 in Farmer City, IL to John and Geraldine Isaacs. He married Laura Rittenhouse on September 7, 1958. Arlen is a United States Navy veteran having served from 1952 to 1956. He retired from St. Paul Insurance as a Senior Claims Specialist. Arlen was a charter member of the Taylorville Christian Church and a charter member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid bowler.

He is survived by his brother, David Isaacs; son, Mark Isaacs; daughters, Cheryl Ellegood and Anita Ricker (Jon); grandchildren, Ben Ellegood (Dorie), Ryan Ricker (Whitney) and Andrea Ricker; and great granddaughters Peyton and Norah Ellegood.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura; parents, John and Geraldine; sister, Kathleen Sprague and brother, Jack Isaacs.
