Susan Alexander

Susan ‘Suzi’ Louise Alexander, 68, of Mattoon, IL, gained her wings on June 18, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was surrounded by loved ones and passed peacefully.   Suzi had grown up and lived most of her life in Bloomington, IL.

Suzi was born to Kenney and Louise (Horton) Alexander on June 11, 1958 in Bloomington,  IL.  She was the 4th born of 6 children.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Step-father John and mother Louise Moudy, and all 5 of her siblings, Janet Alexander,  Thomas ‘Tommy’ Alexander, Dale Alexander,  Alice Gilliam, and Maryanne Alexander.

She is survived by 4 sons, daughter, Susan (James) Todd of Springfield, and many grandchildren, nieces,  nephews,  great nieces,  great nephews,  great great nieces and great great nephews, and her Bestie of 25 years, Joanie Becker.

Suzi loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends who were like family even if they were just hanging out at someone’s house.  She enjoyed helping cook big family meals and doing crafts of all kinds. She also enjoyed traveling throughout her life and her MANY adventures with her niece Jenny, going anywhere she was traveling.  They had many adventures but her favorites were the summer week trips with all her favorite ‘littles’, Hannah, Emily,  Keith, Aubri and Evie.

Suzi’s Celebration of Life Celebrations will be held in Bloomington on July 18, 2026 at Salvation Army Gym,  611 W Wahington at 1:00pm and in Mattoon on July 24, 2026 at Peterson Park Pavilion at 1pm.
