Peggy Sue Burgess of Springfield passed away at the age of 71 on December 5, 2023. She was born on May 2, 1952, in Flora Illinois to William A. Burgess and Mary (Pocrnich) Burgess both parents and a brother Dennis L. Burgess have preceded her in death. Peggy married Roger Prichard on December 8, 2001, and he preceded her in death on July 2, 2020.
Peggy is survived by two children: Marcy S. Jackson of Thedford, Nebraska and Joseph P. Noga of Springfield, Illinois and three grandchildren: Kevin, Sophie, and Donavon Noga of Springfield. She is also survived by two brothers Claudie (Patty) of Beecher City, Illinois and Johnny Ray (Sherry) Burgess of Potosi, Wisconsin and three sisters Rita Jastrzebski (Henry) of Loami, Il, Rose K. Turner (Richard) of Springfield, Illinois.
Peggy is also survived by a half-sister, Mary M. Cook of Bolivia, North Carolina and a stepbrother Larry Puckett of Petersburg. Also, preceded in death by three half-brothers: Earl W. and David A. Burgess and Mark E. Blankenship.
Peggy graduated from North Green High School in White Hall, Illinois in 1968. She completed a Certified Nursing Certificate and began caring for many clients privately during her working career. Her final employment was at Panera Bread, where she was a bakery supervisor.
Peggy had an unconditional love for her children and grandchildren, she was always there to take care of her family and friends whether it was to cook, clean or just help them along the way. In her final days she enjoyed watching movies and socializing with her friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
