Donna M. (Durbin) Kelmel, age 67, of Morrisonville, Illinois, passed away on March 8, 2024, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by loving family. Donna was born on October 5, 1956 in Taylorville, Illinois, the daughter of Paul L. Durbin and Mary J. (Orr) Durbin.
She graduated from Taylorville High School in 1974. She married Dave Kelmel in Morrisonville in 2006. Donna was described as a loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and sister. She worked at Taylorville Memorial Hospital for 27 years, where she was known as a very hard worker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Donna enjoyed traveling, dancing, and especially her music.
Donna is survived by her son, Aaron Durbin of Morrisonville, daughter, Kristin (Tim) Durbin Hunt, brother, Michael R. Durbin, sister, Paula Durbin Gipson, two granddaughters, Hailey and Madison Hunt, all of Taylorville, Illinois, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother.
The family would like to invite family and friends to come and celebrate Donna’s life and share memories of her together on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 5-8 pm at Taylorville Knights of Columbus.
Central Cremation Center in Forsyth, Illinois has been entrusted with arrangements.
