Russell Anderson

Russell G Anderson, 70 of Decatur, IL passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2024 at St Mary’s Hospital in Decatur. He was born January 23, 1954 in Lincoln, IL, son of Leslie Anderson, and Frances Grizzsle. He married Susan White on February 15, 1974 in Decatur, IL, she survives. Russell graduated from Lakeview High School in 1973. He had a career with R&R General Contractors in Mt. Zion retiring in 2020 after 35 years of employment. Russell loved skeet & trap shooting, and fishing at Lake Shelbyville. He was a member of the Decatur gun club, and a life member of Warrensburg gun club.

Russell is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan; two daughters, Erin (Gus) Gomez of Trilla, IL, and Megan Barnes and her fiancé Ryan Likins of Decatur, IL; two sisters, Janet (Larry) Thicksden of Decatur, IL, and Chris (Chad) Burrus of Mt. Zion, IL; one brother, Greg Anderson of Plano, TX; five grandchildren, Julian Gomez, Sofia Gomez, LLaney Barnes, Kiley Barnes, and Josey Barnes; two sister-in-laws, Linda (Philip) Russell of Decatur, IL and Janet (Anthony) Agramente of Clarksville, TN.
