Melissa M. Swick of Moweaqua, Il (formerly of Vandalia, Il) passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022 at her home.

Per Melissa’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation.

Melissa Marie Swick was born on June 2, 1959 in Vandalia, Il the daughter of Earl K. Donaldson and Helen K. Parker.

Melissa enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of her beloved pets. Mrs. Swick is survived by her longtime partner Dudley Porter of Moweaqua, Il; Daughters Katrina Fickes and husband Donny, Jessica Eckard and husband Jeff, and Courtney Swick all of Vandalia, Il. Sister Kathy Mahon of Vandalia, Il, Brother Fritz Kramer of Vandalia, Il. Grandchildren Hailey Black, Kaylin Black, Jarrod Eckard, Donald Roberts, Brody Roberts, Zander Tate, Piper Fickes and Knox Fickes.

Preceded in death by: Parents, Grandson Zeppelin Black, Granddaughter Shelby Wheatley.
