Thomas Edward Stout, also known as Tom Stout, passed away on August 30, 2023, in Decatur,
IL, at the age of 81. Born on January 12, 1942, in Jacksonville, IL, Tom was a hard worker,
dedicated, and stubborn. He was a man who loved his family and friends dearly. Tom had a
unique personality that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. If you were fortunate
enough to have known him, consider yourself lucky.
Tom had a variety of interests and hobbies. He enjoyed fishing, watching birds, and taking care
of his flowers. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life. In his free time, he loved spending
time with his family, especially his children, whom he affectionately referred to as his favorite
remote and beer fetchers.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Judy Stout, and his children: Robin (Bill) McFadden of
Jacksonville, IL; Bobby Jean (Steven) Wilson of Dallas, TX; Susie (Bob) Hammond of Decatur,
IL; Laurie Mills of Mountain Home, AR; Jennifer (Michael Turner) Stout of Lincoln, IL; Amber
(David) Gaines of Las Vegas, NV; Tom (Ron) Stout of Springfield, IL; Bobby Mills of Texas; and
Todd (Carmen) Stout of Lakeland, FL. He was also blessed with 26 grandchildren and 26
great-grandchildren whom he adored.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved Grandma Dorothy, who was like a mother to him, as
well as his mother, father, brother James, sister Jeannie, and son Jason Stout.
Tom attended Jacksonville High School and later went on to serve in the Army for 6 years. His
dedication and bravery were recognized, and he was awarded the Purple Heart for his service.
Throughout his life, Tom pursued various careers, including photographer, police officer, and
finance manager. However, he ultimately found his calling as a long-haul truck driver, a
profession he passionately pursued for over 20 years until his retirement.
Family and friends are invited to a private viewing on Friday, September 1st, at 2 pm at Central
Cremation Center, Forsyth, IL.

Thomas Edward Stout will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever live
