I count it such a blessing that Matthew and Drake were School buddies from Kindergarten through Graduation from High School. Our hears break for you all. Angie, Caitlin, and Drake, I am holding you all so close in my heart. Growing up, your family was such a meaningful part of my childhood. Some of my fondest memories are with you—making Creepy Crawlers, laughing like only kids can, and especially that Disney World trip where both our families shared a house. It’s a memory I still carry with me all these years later. Even though I spent most of my time running around with the girls, I will always remember Aaron for how kind, calm, and steady he was. He had a presence that felt safe—quietly supportive, warm, and genuinely good. That kind of energy stays with you, even as a child, and I never forgot it. I love your family deeply, and I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Aaron’s goodness clearly lives on through the love that surrounds you. Sending you all my love, comfort, and strength during this heartbreaking time.

We met Aaron and Angie in Clinton IA in 1992. Aaron worked with Mark at ADM. He was a kind and soft spoken man, who always took time to talk at work. We went on bike rides, talked about guns and family. We were fortunate to move together to Decatur IL.

Aaron was one of those men who was a quiet, gentle and thoughtful man. I worked with Aaron at ADM. The world could use more men like Aaron.
