It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our Beloved Mother, Alana Cheryl Emert (75yrs)
on July 29, 2025 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Alana (Cheryl) was born on June 30, 1950 in Decatur, Illinois; the Daughter of Jesse Sr. and Myrtle
(Harvey) Miller.

Alana was a proud member of the Salvation Army Church. She never met a stranger, was devoted to her
family and friends and could always be counted on to be there for them when needed. She was true in
her faith in GOD and JESUS CHRIST.

She attended Stephen Decatur High School, eventually receiving her GED. She retired as a school bus
driver in Decatur, Il. She loved her family with all of her heart. Her only grandson was the light of her
life, and would do anything possible for him and her daughters. She was a cat lover. Her sister Karen
was her best friend, and you would always find them together. She married George Meredith, in which
they had 2 loving daughters, and later married Douglas Emert.

Survivors include: Daughters- Dawn (Tim) Slemp of Argenta,IL and Tonya Meredith of Decatur, IL
Grandson – Will Slemp of Argenta, IL Brothers: Jesse (Susan) Miller, Jr. of Mesa, AZ and Eric (Linda)
Miller of Long Creek, IL. Sister: Karen Miller of Decatur, IL, Sister-in-law, Linda (James) Miller of Decatur, IL. Numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, great-nephews. Special friends: Kathy Mendenall, of Decatur, IL and Carol Marques of Indianapolis, IN

She was preceded in death by: her Parents; Jesse Sr, and Myrtle Miller, Brother; James (Jim) Miller.
Spouses; George Meredith, and Douglas Emert.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Salvation Army Church 229 W. Main St., Decatur, IL 62523, on
Friday August 8, 2025 at 11:00am with a lunch provided after. Cremation services provided by Central
Cremation Center, in lieu of flowers please make memorials to the Salvation Army. Ashes will be
interred at a different time with family.
