Albert Dean Kirk

Albert “Dean” Kirk, 56, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Sunday morning, January 7, 2024, after a two-year battle with cancer.
Dean was born in Decatur, IL on June 17, 1967, to Bill and Myrtle (Frost) Kirk; he was a 4-pound preemie, born at just 7 months. He legally married Jason Jilg on June 11, 2014, after their love became legal, but they were together for 29 amazing years.
Dean had worked as a caregiver to elderly people in the past. He enjoyed cars – both trading and buying. He also loved camping and gambling. He and Jason loved going to Florida in the winters together; they had hopes of moving their when they grew old together.
Dean is survived by his beloved husband- Jason Jilg, his sister- Barb (John Cramer) Grass, his Aunt Bonita McManus, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers – Randy Kirk, and Billy (Mariann) Kirk, sister – Ruby Kirk, sister – Cynthia “Cindy” Williams, and his uncle – Earnest Frost.
Dean always had a strong family bond and loved his family very much. He will be remembered as a generous, caring, and loving man who always put other people before himself. Regardless of who it was, he always tried to see the good in people.
A celebration of Dean’s life and graveside services will be held at a later date (in April). Anyone who knew and loved him is welcome to attend. Check back to www.centralcremationcenter.com for updates.
