Anita Sue “Suzy” White, 74, of Decatur, Ill., gained her angel wings on Sunday, November 10, 2024, with loved ones surrounding her.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Maranatha Church in Decatur, Ill. Pastor Juanita Spangler will be officiating. Suzy was born on June 14, 1950, in Macon County, Ill., the daughter of Bill and Juanita Manion. She worked many years as a secretary and retired from Richland Community College. She married her husband, Donald “Greg” White, on February 14, 1992.
She was an avid crafter and was always making something creative. She loved sports of all kinds, but really had a special love for football. Her favorite team was the Chicago Bears. She was very big on family, and loved to take everyone’s pictures, especially when they were eating! She was a woman of faith and loved to serve in any way that she could. Animals were another passion of hers, especially dogs.
Suzy will be remembered for her powerful love of family, Jesus, friendships and her contagious laugh that could make anyone around her laugh right with her. She always had a smile on her face, and hardly ever got angry.
She is survived by her husband, Greg White, of Decatur, Ill., Her two sons, Joseph and Joshua Ray, both of Decatur, her sisters, Shirley (Tom) Zehnacker, of Decatur, and Sherry (Randy) Doty, of Mount Zion, Step-daughters, Alisha and Heather White, both of Decatur, grandchildren, Hayley (Clayton) Hayes, Autumn Ray, Hunter, Naudia and Dayton White, all of Decatur, best friend of over 50 years, Glenda Harrington-Rappe, of Borger, TX; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her furbaby, Melody Jane.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Ray; her sister Sally Manion; her parents Bill and Juanita Manion, and her grandparents.
