Barbara Ann Toler of Auburn, Illinois passed away at 1:10 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026.

She was born May 21, 1946, in Springfield IL to the late Leroy Sr. and late Antoinette Costa Gwinn. Leroy Sr. later married and is survived by Emily Jane Merritt Bates.

Barbara married Louis Allen Toler on October 3, 1968, in Carlinville. After 36 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on June 7, 2005.

Barbara was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She was a member of Holt’s Prairie Baptist Church and lived out her faith everyday. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother whose care, strength, and steadiness shaped the lives of those around her.

Barbara is survived by her three daughters: Debbie Trautmann (Mark) of Auburn; Edie Giacomo (Kody) of Mount Vernon; and LaDonna Wilkin (Chad) of Terre Haute, IN.

She is also survived by her brother, Leroy Gwinn Jr. (Maureen) of Chatham; sister-in-law (Bill), Connie Gwinn, stepbrother, Dave Bates (Michelle) of Auburn; and stepsister, Cam Lucasey (Dan) of Eureka, MO.

Barbara is survived by eight grandchildren: Brandon (Taylor), Caitlin, and Courtney Tweedell, Arial Trautmann, Jocelyn and Jensen Wilkin, Connor and Cole Toler; and two great-grandchildren, Weston and Tinley Tweedell. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald Treat to cancer in 1966; her brother, William (Bill) Gwinn; her son, Todd Allen Toler; and her grandson, Josiah Samuel Wilkin.
