Bobby Joe McCrary, age 84 of Springfield, Illinois passed away peacefully after an illness, on December 21, 2023.

Bobby Joe was born in Metropolis, Illinois on September 28, 1939 to Joseph and Theresa (Renfro) McCrary. He was the 2nd born of 4 boys.

Bobby Joe spent most of his life in Springfield where he enjoyed many hours of fishing and camping.
He was always with a smile and a quick-witted saying. All those who knew and loved him will miss that the most.

He was retired from Excel in Beardstown where he met his life partner, Huong Nguyen. They spent the last 25 years together until her passing on September 29, 2023.

Bobby Joe is survived by his children Bobby Ray & Carolyn McCrary, Michael McCrary, Preston & Brenda McCrary, Carla (McCrary) and Albert Langley, Bobby McCrary Jr., Kevin McCrary, Carrie (McCrary) Ward and Michael & Carla Rollen. His daughter, Renee McCrary predeceased him.

He is also survived by 2 brothers, Ralph McCrary and Preston McCrary, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His brother, Lawrence McCrary and parents, Joseph and Theresa McCrary also predeceased him.

There will be a memorial gathering on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11 AM at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Springfield IL 62707.
