Bobby Lee Camp 86,Oakley, passed away in his home peacefully on Dec 8,2024 surrounded by his children.Bobby was born in Decatur, Ill on May 4,1938 to Lillian Agusta (England)Camp and Leroy Clarence (LC) Camp.He served in the US Army (Korea) 1955-58 and Taught at West Point, was in reserves from 1958-63. He married the love of his life MaryAnn(Culp)Camp in 1960 and celebrated 48 years of marriage before her death in 2008. Bobby was a loyal member of the Masonic Lodge. He started raising rabbits at age 7 with his father. His love of rabbits continued as he found Florida Whites to be his passion.He was a master at spreading his knowledge mentoring many in the rabbit world such as National Judge Bruce Ormsby. He was mentored himself as a young man by Mr. ARBA Oren Reynolds. He built one of the nations most powerful herds of Florida Whites spending over 50 years perfecting. He never showed in youth as a young boy, only in open shows. He won several Nationals and achieved so much in the rabbit world. He was a master spreading his knowledge with so many others that he mentored. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Tripp, brother Leroy Camp, brother in laws Lloyd Tripp,Emil Karasch & Gene Finney and son in law Tim Turk. He is survived by his sisters Laura Finney of South Dakota, Dorma Karasch of Decatur,Leo Camp of Georgia,Sister in law Marietta Camp,Donna(Wayne)Maddox of Caryle,His son Cody(Christine)Camp of Decatur,Leah(Randy)Miller of Argenta,Brenda(Scott)Crist of Cerro Gordo,Bobbie Turk of Arcola,Windy(Jack)Dodge of Arcola,LuAnn McDaniels of Decatur and Jackie(Corbit)Walters of Decatur. He has 20 Grandkids(*his special buddy Shelby Ann)25 Great Great Grandkids and 14 Great Great Grandkids. A private service of remembrance will be held at a later date with his children. Those who wish to remember Bobby can make gifts to Traditions Hospice of Decatur or plant a tree in his memory at the Cerro Gordo Veterans Park in Cerro Gordo.
