Carl Christian Schloz III left us June 9, 2024. Born June 14, 1985, to Robert K. and Jan A. Schloz in
Decatur, Il. Much to everyone’s amazement with a full head of dark, wavy hair which he changed
frequently throughout his years as part of his stylish persona.

Carl had a beautiful voice, played guitar and piano. He was an avid reader and math puzzler,
memory ace – such as remembering 22 dinner orders and drinks of loyal patrons; He built
simple furniture and complicated 3-D mechanical miniatures. He enjoyed cooking – no microwave
in his home – baking bread and creating marvelous candy and desserts! He was truly a Renaissance
Man. He played in the Lamplighters Band and golfed. Carl collected books, watches, vintage lighters,
needy animals, and the best friends!

Carl grew up in downtown Decatur working at Robbie’s Grill from age 15. Those families loved him
well. He recently, at age 38, joined the team at the Four-Nine Restaurant in Mt. Zion, Illinois and entered a
rebirth phase of life. He was wearing a smile every day. He strived to delight ALL of his friends and
patrons with positivity and excellent service; this was his calling. He embraced his fellow man.
Carl and brother Nick had a strong, loving, genuine relationship. Many common interests. I could
see their eyes meeting and bursts of simultaneous laughter would result.

Carl and Amanda London created the perfect dopple-ganger, our lovely, smart, talented Lilyan
Jewel Schloz. She is their legacy and will carry on thankfully with these bonds of love and friendship
of her community.

Carl has moved forward to join grandparents, aunt, uncles, cousin, and pets.
He will be forever cherished by so many. We thank you all for holding him close and caring for Lilyan.
We will see you soon, our beloved son, Carl.

Celebration of Life will be held at Sliderz, June 30th from noon to 3pm.
