Carol Louise Ray, 84, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025 surrounded by love.

Born on February 13, 1941, Carol’s life was a vibrant tapestry of kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the heart of every gathering, the voice of encouragement in hard times, and the one who could make anyone laugh with her quick wit and sassy personality.

Carol cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her daughter, Bambi Ray, son-in-law, Bob Moreland (Teresa), and son, Frankie & Shanna Ray, grandchildren Robert Moreland, Jill Booker, Danial Moreland, Terra King, Bradley Booker, Tabatha Moreland, Mathew Moreland, Shawn Moreland, Caitlyn, Carley & Graysen Ray and a host of great-grandchildren. She joins in eternal rest her beloved husband, Frank Ray and daughter Teresa Moreland. Her legacy lives on in the love, values, and laughter she instilled in those who knew her.

Carol’s life was one well-lived – full of stories, shared meals, and countless acts of generosity.

Whether she was offering a listening ear, sharing her famous home-cooked dishes, or finding joy in the little things, she left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor Carol’s beautiful spirit, share memories, and celebrate the joy she brought into the world.

Her absence will be deeply felt, but her love and light will continue to guide us.
