With profound sadness and a deep sense of gratitude for the life she lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Christine L. Monetti on June 4, 2026, at the age of 66. Christine (Chris) was born on May 25, 1960, in Decatur, IL.

Chris was the cherished daughter of Earl R. and Erma F. Collins.

She is survived by her loving children, Phillip R. Walton and Tina R. Thompson, who were her pride and joy. She also had five precious grandchildren, each holding a special place in her heart. She was also loved by her siblings: her brother, Michael R. (Sandy) Collins, and her sisters, Connie K. (John) Disney and Starla J. (David) Street.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Jordan M. Street.

Chris’s compassion extended beyond her human family to her cherished pets, Jeffy the cat and Wednesday the dog, who were her steadfast companions and a source of comfort and joy.

A proud graduate of Richland Community College, Chris earned her associate’s degree and was also a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Her gentle touch and empathetic nature were evident when she took care of both her parents during their final days.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Chris’s hospice nurse, Candice, for the loving care and support provided during Chris’s final days. Candice’s kindness and professionalism offered solace and comfort, for which the family will be forever thankful.

A private family service will be held to honor her memory.
