Craig Lucas passed away Nov 15th 2025 at his home in Decatur Illinois at the age of 72. He was born in Detroit Michigan on March 3 rd 1953, to Russell and Bette Lucas.

Craig was a professor of science at Richland Community College where he was able to live his passion for teaching for 25 years. Besides teaching,Craig had a love for all animals and nature. He was an avid bike rider who was particularly fond of biking in the west US national parks. Craig also was a huge sports fan particularly baseball and hockey. Throughout his life he had watched at least one game in every major league baseball stadium. His sense of humor was joyous and he loved to share laughter with friends and family.

Craig was predeceased by his parents Russell and Bette Lucas and bother Robert Lucas. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sherri and Dennis Loveday, nephew Christian Lucas, niece Chandler Loveday, great niece Lauren Lucas and great nephew Liam Lucas, as well as many friends and colleagues.
