Dale Eugene Burg, 68, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away on May 1, 2025.

Born on March 13, 1957, Dale was a graduate of Southeast High School. He went on to build a career as a union carpenter, dedicating his working years to skilled craftsmanship before retiring.

Dale is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Jean Burg; daughters Andrea Duling and Chelsea Burg; and son William Burg and his wife Emily, along with their children Lucille and John. He is also remembered by his stepsons Paul Morell and his wife Janet (children Alex and Addie), and Joe Morrell and his wife Tonya (children Carter and Parker). Dale’s siblings William E. Burg, Linda Clarke, Kyle Burg, Keith Burg and his wife Patricia, and Kurt Burg and his wife Penny also mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Betty Burg, and his granddaughter Racheal Betty Jean Jamison.

Known for his love of fishing and motocross, Dale found joy in the outdoors and the thrill of the ride. He cherished time spent with family and was well known for telling colorful stories, often exaggerated but always entertaining. Whether gathered around a campfire or sharing drinks with loved ones, Dale had a way of making every moment memorable.

In accordance with his wishes, Dale was cremated and his ashes will be spread over a lake, a fitting tribute to his love for nature and peaceful waters.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date to honor his memory.
