Danial “Dan” Alan Miller, age 71, of Humboldt, IL passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, December 25th 2023.
Celebration services for family and friends honoring his life will take place at a later date.
Dan was born on April 7th, 1952 in Mattoon, the son of Wilbur H. Miller and Edna B. Ward (Miller).
Survivors include his son Josh Miller (Charleston, Il); siblings, Mary Alice Miller (Mattoon), Michael W. Miller (San Antonio, TX), Sandra K. Bauswell (Galesburg, IL), Connie M. Thompson (Monmouth, IL) Joseph “Joe” Miller (Quincy, IL), Terry L Miller (Charleston, IL) and Mark E. Miller (Palmyra, MO). Several nieces and nephews, and Grandchildren Gavin, Annamarie, and Abel. As well as his best friend and Army buddy Chuck Glaser (Colorado).
Dan was preceded in death by his parents-Wilbur and Edna, oldest sibling-Mary Alice, his nephew-Daniel, and his niece-Tina.
Dan served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1969-1972, during the Vietnam War as a Specialist E-4, helicopter crew chief – something that he was most proud of in his lifetime was his opportunity to serve.
A master carpenter and a skilled heavy equipment operator, Dan spent each day of his life as a hard working man, if it was broke he could fix it. If it needed built, he could build it.
Dan was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos as well as The Beatles and loved to listen to music while drinking a cold beer. Dan was never too shy of making friends and having a good time. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Central Cremation Center in Forsyth, Illinois is handling arrangements.
