On June 22nd, 2024, D’Antae Anthony Jee made a choice that changed our lives forever and left this earthly realm.

He is survived by his mother – Darlene Newman and father – Matthew McCullick, his siblings – Jeremy Taylor Jr, Olivia Taylor (Gage Brunner, and niece Aurora), Izaiah McCullick (Chloe Holbrook), Iyannah McCullick, grandparents – Kim Newman, Dana and Tony McCullick, and beloved girlfriend – Althea Marcy (Alaia) Spider and Cricket, and many beloved family and friends. D’Antae was formerly from East Dubuque, IL, until the family moved to Clear Lake, IL in 2017.

Growing up D’Antae was the light that shined in every room possible. There was never a dull moment with him. He was the person anyone could count on for anything. D’Antae was known for being wise, naturistic, and a very understanding person. He had the most rare and beautiful soul.

When D’Antae wasn’t working for Sangamon Construction or Russ Hopkins Construction you could either find Him with Althea and Alaia or Izaiah and him having hour long conversations to him gaming on his PC, jamming out to his favorite music or spending quality time with Aurora, his siblings, aunts and uncles, grandparents, parents and his close friends.

He was a very sociable person, anywhere he went he never left without saying hello to someone with a beautiful smile. As D’antae made the choice that hurt the worst, we know he was preceded in death by Paul E. Newman, Beth McCullick, Stan McCullick, and his beloved dog Ozzy.

Please join the family as they hold a Celebration of Life for D’Antae Anthony Jee; this will be held July 27th, 2024, at the bridge located at Lincoln Park (1601 N 5th St, Springfield IL.)
