David Edward Eaton, 62, of Decatur, Illinois passe away on May 12, 2026, in Springfield, Illinois.

Born on June 11, 1963, in Peoria, Illinois, David was the son of Richard and Nancy Eaton (Noland). He spent many formative years living in Pekin, Illinois, before relocating to Phoenix, Arizona, where he built a successful career in sales and finance. His professional achievements were matched by the meaningful relationships he cultivated. David was a thoughtful listener who genuinely cared about others; he connected easily with people and made lasting impact on colleagues, employees, and all who had the privilege of working with him. In 2023, David returned to his roots in Illinois, settling in Decatur to be closer to home.

David was a man of vibrant passions. He was a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Cardinals baseball, an avid lover of classic cars, and a true enthusiast of classic rock and roll. He was rarely one to just listen to the music–David loved to sing, bringing energy and joy to the songs he loved.

Above all, David loved his family. He is survived by his devoted children: daughters Nicole, Stephanie, Paige and his son Blake. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Carter, Olivia and Presley, his sister Diane, his brothers Jim and Rob, and many special nieces and nephews who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Nancy Eaton.

A celebration of David’s life will be held on Saturday, June 27th, at Grace United Methodist Church at 601 North 4th Street in Pekin at 11am.
