Dylan Robert Kellogg (a resident of Decatur IL) was born December 16th, 1989 in Shelby Montana to parents Jeff and Valerie Kellogg. Dylan grew up 4 miles north of Conrad Montana with his brother Weston Kellogg. From a young age he set his sights on Montana’s open skies taking interest in bird watching and plant identification.
Dylan graduated from Conrad High School in 2008. While in high school, Dylan discovered his love for music. He played drums in pep band all 4 years of high school and in his free time learned the guitar. He and his friends formed a garage band and played a few local gigs including Battle of the Bands. Dylan also attended many concerts, some of which included: Aerosmith, Bob Dylan, and Pearl Jam. He also formed close friendships through his involvement in youth activities at The Frist Presbyterian Church of Conrad.
Soon after he attended MSU College of Great Falls, Montana, where he studied Auto Body Repair Technology and completed the coursework at the College of Southern Idaho. In 2012 he married Kelsey Ostrom. They moved to Missoula Montana to attend the University of Montana and later divorced amicably. It was during his time in Missoula where he met his future wife, Emily Eaton, in 2018. Dylan relocated to Decatur, Illinois with his spouse-to-be in 2020. They married in 2021 and welcomed their daughter Esse Kellogg into the world in 2022. Dylan and his young family enjoyed visiting outdoor locations including farms and parks in the area. Oh how joyous he was to take Esse along for a ride on the Rock Springs bike trail using his European imported cargo bike (a Babboe). The trio also made special trips out to Montana to explore the nature Dylan loved.
Dylan held special interest in compassionate living and enjoyed social events with a focus on plant based eating and mindfulness. At one point or another between 2021 – 2024, Dylan worked at all 3 Decatur Kroger locations in produce. He took pride in ensuring freshness and was known to impress customers with his knowledge of fruit/veg varieties along with cooking recommendations. Dylan so loved to cook and had a vast knowledge about herbs and complementary food pairings. He and his family began attending First Presbyterian Church of Decatur around the summer of 2023.
