Elizabeth Ann Hartnell of Moweaqua, IL., passed away April 6, 2025, peacefully with family at her bedside. She was born January 11, 1943 in Brighton, IL., to her parents Harold and Josephine (Phillips) Eddington.

She leaves behind her brother Harold Eddington Jr. (Maude Ellen) and sister Toby Lee Shephard (Ralph Buckner) of Belleville, IL., as well as children Jo Ann Riley (Chris) of Pana, Larry Hartnell of Moweaqua, Darren Hartnell of Moweaqua and Gina Ritchie (Josh) of Macon, as well as acquired daughter Rhonda White of Moweaqua, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two great-grandchildren.

Ann worked many years serving the mental health community. She volunteered for the American Red Cross, including serving during the 9/11 recovery efforts in New York.

Ann adored Willie Nelson and the Chicago Cubs.

In retirement, she was able to take her dream vacations to Hawaii and Alaska.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
