Elsie Jane (Roscoe) Black, 84, formerly of Adena, Ohio, passed away on September 24, 2024, at her current home in Chatham, Illinois.  She born September 1, 1940 – the daughter of the late Ludwig (Raska) Roscoe and Wilma Adeline (Martin) Roscoe.

She was a homemaker her entire life and is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard F. Black; her daughter Jane M. Black of Chatham; and her son Eric R. (Vidhya P.) Black and their boys Eric S. and Ethan P. of Springfield, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Ethel and Donald D. Baker of Pleasant Grove, Ohio.  She is survived by her sisters Joanne (Joe) Costain of St. Clairsville, Ohio; W. Jean (David) Golladay of Wintersville, Ohio; Rose Childers of North Carolina, and a brother Joeseph (Connie) Roscoe of Arizona.

Arrangements are being made with Central Cremation Center.  A private burial at the convenience of the family will be at Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove.  Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
