Ernest J. Goodwin
Age 77

Ernest “Ernie” “Bud” James Goodwin III, of Waverly, passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 29,
2022 at his home. He was born February 5, 1945, in Bunker Hill, the son of Ernest T. and Ruth E. (Davis)
Goodwin.

He was a 1963 graduate of Mt. Pulaski High School. He married Sharon G. Rice, the mother of his
children. They later divorced. He married Lucy Hingle in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy P. Goodwin, former wife Sharon G. Forbes; his children; Mark R.
(Dawn) Goodwin of Anderson, IN; Tina M. (Craig) Lascody of Springfield; step-children; Patricia
(Brian) Sullivan of Poughkeepsie, NY; Belinda Schmidt of San Jose, CA; Sue Hingle of Waverly; Sister;
Janet Brady of Clinton; brother, Thomas Goodwin Sr. of Clinton. Granddaughters, Alyssa M. (Austin)
Spencer and Addison M. (Jaydon Braner) Miller both of Springfield, stepgrandson, Travis (Tori) Lascody
of Chatham. Several nieces and nephews

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary Goodwin, stepson, Bobby Scadlock.

Ernie was a woodworker most of his life and later a truck driver.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
