Forrest “Bud” Coleman passed away on the morning of December 5, 2022, age 73, at home, holding the hand of his dear wife.

Born April 12, 1949, he lived in Decatur most of his life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Armilda Jean Sheppard, stepfather, Gerald “Jerry” Sheppard, sister, Evelyn Coleman, and brother-in-law, Vern Tatham. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Verna, daughter, Kim (Clay) Brockman, 2 grandchildren, Kenley and Chase, his sister, Judy Tatham, several nephews, his bird, Paco, and tons of Facebook friends.

Bud was a hardworking man and held a variety of careers across the years including driving a tow truck, security guard, and dealer trade driver for Miles Chevrolet, but his favorite “gig” was being Santa Claus.

Having never met a stranger, he was even more jolly dressed in a red suit at holiday time.

Bud enjoyed meeting new friends, baseball, fishing, true crime dramas, and a good round of Jeopardy with an ice-cold Pepsi.

Memorial services to be held at a later date when we can be outside with a big bonfire. Bud loved his campfires.
