Gary Lee Jesse, 82, of Dalton City, passed away on January 9, 2023, in his home, with loved ones by his
side.

Gary was the youngest child of Merle and Rosetta Jesse, and was born in Moweaqua, IL on November 9,
1940. He served in the US Air Force from 1963 to 1967. Gary worked many years for General Telephone
(now known as Frontier), as the “Phone Man” in Mt. Zion. He was involved in CB Radios and was known
by many as “Pole Climber”.

Upon his retirement from Verizon after 30 years, he spent his time mowing yards, plowing gardens, and
installing phone systems and computer wiring on the side. Gary loved old cars and spent many hours
fixing up his 1955 Chevy. He loved going to car shows to look at the cars and visit with people.

He married his wife, Kathy on July 7, 1983.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Baker; and brother, Larry Jesse.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Shannon (Mark) Smith; Billie Jo Junior and Shane Junior, both
of Panama City, FL; and Andrea (Eric) Webb, Beebe. AR.

Ten grandchildren: Andrew (Allison) Smith, Dustin Smith, Jenna (John) Smith, all of Decatur, IL. Devin
Junior, Beebe, AR; Dylan Junior, Decatur, IL; Jessica Junior, Moweaqua, IL; Cody Griggs, Beebe, AR;
Christopher Junior, Beebe, AR; Anthony Brewer of Tallahasee, FL., Sebastian Taylor, Panama City, FL.

Gary also had four great-grandchildren.

Gary and Kathy attended Lampstand Church, Decatur, IL.
