Gary Ragan, 75, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 14, 1950, in Decatur, Gary was the son of Eugene and Mary (Logan) Ragan. He married the love of his life, Sherri (Schlosser) Ragan, on October 4, 1983, and together they recently celebrated 42 wonderful years of marriage.

Gary dedicated 25 years of hard work to Kelley Construction, where he was known for his strong work ethic and easygoing nature. Outside of work, he found joy in simple pleasures — spending time fishing, tending to his yard, and sharing stories and laughter with family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sherri; his children, Jeremy (Kristin) Ragan and Jamie (Christopher) [Last Name, if applicable]; grandchildren, Baylee Ragan and Nicole Ragan; his siblings, Carolyn Stone and Terry (Lori) Ragan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mary Ragan, and his sisters, Sandra Brinkley and Brenda Patrick.

Gary’s life was one of kindness, steady strength, and quiet devotion to those he loved. His laughter, generosity, and gentle presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
