Darrell “Gene” Alcorn, 91, of Macon, IL passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at
Aspen-Ridge in Sullivan, IL.
Gene was born on May 17, 1932, in Chicago, IL. He married Louise Petrowsky in
October, 1955. She preceded him in death on August 11, 1994. On September 23,
2000, Gene married Florene Elizabeth Woolard (Coleman). She preceded him in
death on May 26, 2017. Gene is survived by his step-sons, Jeffery Woolard of
Mannford, Ok and Bryan (Garnet) Woolard of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Hannah,
Tabitha, and Austin Woolard.
Gene served in the United States Marine Corps. After serving, he began working at
PPG where he retired from.
A graveside service will be held on July 22, 2023, at 10:00 am, in Mount Gilead
Cemetery, Decatur, IL, with military honors.
