Greg Childers, 55, passed away on February 18, 2026, in Decatur, Illinois.

He was born on November 2, 1970, in Chicago, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne Childers (Hankins); his father, John Childers; both sets of grandparents; and extended family members.

He is survived by his children, Oscar Childers, 14; Jovie Childers, 10; and Arlo Childers, 7. He is also survived by his adult children: Samuel, Nathan, Hannah, and Jaxon Rueb; his sister, Susan (Greg) Heberling of Decatur; his brother, Scott (Sandy) Childers of Bloomington; three nephews; and extended family and friends. Although separated for years, he is also survived by his wife of 15 years, Audrey Childers, who resides in Bloomington with their three children.

Greg will be remembered for his dedication to his children. A hardworking, fun, and loving father, Greg had a big heart and a sharp, quick sense of humor. May we always remember him this way.

Per his request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Audrey Childers to help support his children during this time of transition.
