Harry Junior Bullock, aged 80, passed away late afternoon on September 13, 2024, in his home in Illiopolis, Illinois surrounded by his family. Born on January 3, 1944, in Raymondville, Texas County, Missouri, Harry moved to Illopolis with his parents in the 1950’s. Harry was known for his helpful, hard-working, kind, and funny nature.

Harry attended Illiopolis School until the 8th grade and dedicated much of his career to the local community. He worked at Dekalb in Illiopolis, IL, and retired from the Village of Illiopolis after 30 years of service. His commitment to his work reflected his diligent and dedicated character.

Outside of work, Harry was passionate about his hobbies, which included whittling knives, whistles, and swords, as well as metal detecting. These activities showcased his love for detail and patience, bringing joy not only to him but also to those who were lucky enough to receive one of his intricate pieces.

Harry was a beloved family man, survived by his children Harry M. Bullock (Patty), Jeffery Bullock (Rose), Trisha Ridgeway, Becky Cole, and Kelly Bullock (Michelle); his siblings Linda Bullock-Ball, Deloris Carey, Delmar Bullock, and Jim Bullock. He was a proud grandfather to Mable, Melanie, Harry, Lizzy, Victoria, Alex, Zach, Cassy, Josh, Emily, Natalie, Logan, and Nathan, and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Lucille Bullock, and his brother, Bobbie Bullock.

A celebration of Harry’s life will be held on September 28th, 2024, at 2pm, located at Bunkers Bar, 715 Old Rte 36, Illiopolis, IL 62539, where family and friends can gather to honor his memory and legacy. He will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife, Lucy, in Riverside Cemetery. His passing leaves a void in the community and among his loved ones, who will remember him for his generous spirit and his ability to bring laughter and help to any situation.
