Helen L. Schober, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at home. She was born September 1, 1937, in Springfield, IL, to Joe Geyston and Maria Burge.

Helen attended Lanphier High School in Springfield, Illinois. On June 18, 1982, she married Ronald Schober in Springfield, IL; he preceded her in death on December 11, 2020. Helen is survived by her daughters – Brenda Cavazos (Menasha, WI), Sharon Kraft (Davenport, IA), Debbie Wolff (Springfield, IL), Sherry Bacon (Springfield, IL), Melba Scroggins (Springfield, IL), and Sandy Hite (Bartlett, TN) – as well as 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Helen was a domestic engineer and retired after twenty-three years. She loved spending time with family and friends. Perhaps most of all, she adored her cats.

When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.” Helen was a beloved treasure to many.

Helen’s final resting place will be Oak Hill Cemetery, 4688 Old Rte 36, Springfield, Illinois.
