James Clifford Horath, Jr.

James Clifford Horath, Jr, 56, of Decatur, IL, bid us farewell on September 21, 2023, in Decatur. Born on May 24, 1967, in Decatur, IL, James left behind a trail of cherished memories. Survived by his son, Zachary Horath, his brother Joseph Horath, his sister Christine Haskell (Mark), and his niece Kathleen Stolte (Dakota). James’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him. He was greeted on the other side by his mother, Roberta Horath, his father, James Horath Sr, and his brothers Jamie and Patrick Horath. He also joins a host of aunts, uncles, and many relatives who await his arrival.

James was a force to be reckoned with in his career. From his days as an operator at ADM to his floral finesse at Houran’s Florist, he bloomed wherever he was planted. And let’s not forget his ace performance at Smoking Aces—his skills were smoking hot!

When James wasn’t conquering the professional realm, he ruled the world of hobbies. He loved playing softball & umpiring & The Chicago Bears was his favorite football team. Armed with darts, cards, and an insatiable thirst for knowledge, he was a walking encyclopedia. Need a trivia answer or a fun fact? James was your go-to guy. He had a knack for knowing everything there was to know, and he never hesitated to share his wisdom.

In celebration of James’s incredible life, we invite you to join us at The Hall @ 520 on Saturday September 30th anytime between 11-2. It’s where we’ll gather to honor his memory and share stories that will make you laugh, cry, and everything in between. Trust us, it’ll be a Hall of a time!

James Clifford Horath, Jr leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and endless curiosity. May his witty spirit continue to shine bright as he rests in peace.
